i had a few hours layover at the brussels airport, so decided to take a 35 minute train ride to the nearby city of antwerp. i only ended up having about 2 hours there, but it was enough to explore much of the compact old city on an electric scooter. antwerp is famous for its diamond trade, primarily run by jews and jains. it also has the tallest gothic church tower in europe.

quick stop in luxembourg

luxembourg city, luxembourg

after parting way with my family in venice, i had a few more stops before stopping. i had a day-long layover in brussels, belgium, during which i decided to take a train to luxembourg, a country to which i had not yet been. things always take longer than you anticipate so i ended up having only exactly one hour to walk around luxembourg’s old city before having to catch the return train, but it was better than nothing. quantity over quality i have occasionally been known to say.
